Checking out WWII history

On my trip to northern Finland, I visited the Salpa Line in Kuusamo, Finland. The Salpa Line was 1,200km long defense line against possible Soviet invasion in WWII era. It covers the whole length of the Finnish and Russian border. Parts of it has been restored and one part of that being in Kuusamo. There was 100s of meters of trenches restored and some covered machine gun bunkers. The old sauna bunker was still intact, although it has seen better days. There was a lot of anti-tank obstacles still in place and huge craters where there use to be some bigger structures that was blown apart by the soviets.

All and all it was very interesting place to visit and I highly recommend it if you happen to be in the area.
