Northern lights season 24 - 25 has started in Finland

Northern lights season opened with a bang on the night of 12th/13th of August.

There’s been a few auroras before that, but this was a first major event and the first auroras of the season for me.

We are currently at the solar maximum so I think this season is going to be awesome! The nights are quickly getting darker so the next solar storm of this class is going to look even better although it’s going to miss one element; the Perseids meteor shower. The night of 12th/13th was near the peak of the Perseids so this storm was unique.

Check out my NORTHERN LIGHTS GALLERY for photos of this great start for the season!

I also made a video of the night. You’ll find it at my YOUTUBE CHANNEL
