Camper car test night

Camper car in a rainy forest

Nice private spot for overnight car camping in a rainy forest

Success!

Good news! I went out for an overnight photography trip and slept very comfortably in my car. It wasn’t a typical July overnight camp as temperatures were about 12C - 15C and it was windy and rainy. But those conditions were perfect for testing out my setup.

It’s going to be like playing Tetris to fit everything that I need in two week road trip in my car and still have room to sleep in there, but I’m confident that I’m going to figure it out.

There was plenty of room to sleep, but it’s going to be a different story when I’m going to be two weeks on the road.

This was a perfect test night for my wind deflectors and bug screens as it was rainy weather and of course there was mosquitoes. I had my rear windows cracked open for the whole time I was there and didn’t have any mosquitoes or rain enter my car from the windows.

The screens also kept the interior nice and dark for sleeping.

Fresh air came in, bugs and rain stayed out. Success!

And as this was also a photography trip, I did some photography as well.

There was some nice waves crashing in to shore so it was a good opportunity to air out my ND8 filter and take some long exposure wave photos.
